Stand Still and Wait for The Goodness of God's Grace

The court of public opinion allows for everyone to be a judge, and yet a follower amongst followers in fear of being on the wrong side of a trending topic. Influenced by likes, retweets, and shares, society is subjected to making impulsive decisions that randomly change by the minute. For that reason, I encourage you to stand still and wait.

The Bible is filled with scriptures that encourage believers to stand still and wait. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Standing still does not mean to be lazy, unproductive, or to not do anything. In this verse, still is taken from the Hebrew word Rapha which means to be weak, to relinquish, release or surrender. Letting go, and letting God have his way exemplifies how God can make a way out of no way and do #Greatthings in our lives.

In my video for Great Things, Brandon and Utopia are having major marital problems. Sometimes in the midst of fighting for something as sacred as a marriage, it's possible to say the wrong thing like Brandon did. Exodus 14:14 teaches us that "The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Men and women without a doubt think differently. This is why it is important to stand still and let God fight your battles. You don't want to say the wrong thing to someone you love in the heat of the moment. You don't want to get a divorce because you misinterpret a Facebook post by your significant other. You don't want to surrender to the court of public opinion. Instead, surrender to the will of God. Use this time to pray, praise and worship. Define your purpose. Work your faith. I promise, if you stand still and surrender to the will of God, you will reap a harvest.

Communication or rather miscommunication is at the core of the chaos in the world today. The great thing about God is how He can turn what the enemy meant for evil into your good.I encourage you to watch the full version of Great Things on Rick Dorn’s Vevo Youtube channel to see how Brandon and Utopia allowed God to fight their battles. And next week I want to share some healthy tips on communication to help us overcome the problems of the world today by putting our faith in God and not the ways of the world.

To be continued...
