OK, I know it’s that time of year...has the few extra pounds gained over the holiday season, put you in a little funk? You say to yourself “how did I gain these extra pounds so fast?” Doesn’t it just catch you off guard? It may take months to get rid of those unwanted pounds. All the hard work you did to lose the weight is down the drain. I want to encourage you not to be discouraged. We all go through this from time to time. Everyone who ends up being successful in any realm has fallen short a number of times.
I am reminded of a song that perfectly fits this theme, by Donnie Mcclurkin “We Fall Down”. Take a listen to it if you are struggling. It is a powerful and uplifting song. Yes, WE FALL DOWN. We mess up. But, we get up! Stop judging yourself for getting off track with your goals. It is what it is. Don’t let it get you down. Don’t let the spirit of depression overtake you! You must press on. Shake yourself off and speak to yourself ” I’m passed that now”.
Did you know if you scramble the words depression, it comes out to be
“I, pressed on?” That’s right, that’s what we gotta do! Scramble our lives with new positive words and press on. Our new statement is, “I, pressed on! Philippians 3:14 says “I press towards the mark of the high calling in Christ”.
In other words keep your eyes looking up, not down. Psalms 121:1-8 “I will look to the hills from which cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth “. Keep your eyes on Jesus and his promises that he has for you. Promises that says, you are more than a conqueror. You are beautifully and wonderfully made. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Declare this over your life and body.
I’m moving forward, I’m looking forward. I’m not turning backward. I’m headed now in a new direction.
In the next blog post, I will be sharing some practical steps on how to move in a new direction! In the meantime, share with the community how YOU are planning to focus your mind forward?
